Time to Wine Down
When I’m not gutting an old school bus in preparation for building it into a tiny home on wheels, you can probably find me drinking wine. I am a self-proclaimed oenophile, a lover of vino. Between all the home improvement and prepping, one must find time to wine down. Haha, see what I did there? I’m also a pun nerd.

WEEKEND WINE DOWN
Some weekends, wining down means traveling a couple of hours north to the picturesque Santa Ynez Valley, enjoying a tasting at Pence Vineyards or one of the other 120 wineries in the region. Other times, to wine down means popping open a bottle of red I received from California Wine Club’s premiere membership. Or it simply means stocking my wine rack with a case of my faves from Trader Joe’s. Their wine selection is fabulous! Below is a short list of a few of my faves you can get at the grocery store chain. Please note, each store is different and may not carry all of the below.
- Bogle’s Old Vine Zinfandel
- Cocobon Roasted Oak Red Blend
- Wish Flower
- Dr. Jebediah Drinkwell’s Meritage
- Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
- Espiral Vinho Verde – (I’ve seen this one referred to as a pool and/or porch pounder and I quite agree. Its fizziness is delightful.)
I’m always happy to recommend a good wine to pair with the dinner you’re cooking or something to enjoy on a cool Spring evening on the patio with friends. Currently, I’m drinking Bogle’s merlot. I have yet to try a Bogle wine I don’t enjoy honestly. Once the WOW WAGON is mobile, I intend on visiting their vineyard in Clarksburg, California.
Wining Down can mean so many things. Sharing a glass of vino with a loved one or writing these blogs or making videos about wine – these are all experiences that make me happy. I look forward to the day when the table can be full of friendly, unmasked faces, once again, toasting good health, prosperity, and love.
